Ratification and Celebration
Winnipeg, Thursday, March 11, 2010 – Many Canadians are celebrating today as the Government of Canada ratifies the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) at the United Nations in New York. This Convention not only promotes and protects the human rights of people with disabilities; it also addresses the exclusion and inaccessibility people with disabilities face everyday.
