This webinar engages in a discussion with the notion of equality as it is entrenched in the constitutions of some countries and accepted in many others as fundamental to the notion of governance. Christopher examines the predominant answer to the question, ‘Equality of what?’, and suggests that despite the recent wealth of theorizing surrounding Amartya Sen’s ‘Capabilities’ approach to human development and health, employing the notion of equality in such a manner does not ensure a minimal account of justice for people with disabilities.
